Click ‘em to see the pictures better. More to come, obviously. Including video of Daddy Mac’s outrageous speeches.

None of us have slept. Or have eaten anything. Except for maybe Sparks.

In other news, it’s a production weekend this weekend. God help us.

Those alumni expecting to sneak on campus via their Ram Pass for Friday morning’s “private event” are sadly mistaken.

This just in from the Fordham office of Alumni Relations:

Please Note: Due to a private event on Friday, 6 March 2009, the RamPass will not allow access to the Rose Hill Campus from
Midnight until 10 a.m.

So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

With all this U2 ruckus sweeping the nation, it’s a good thing there are still a few brave souls out there not totally infatuated with the appearance of Ireland’s latest comedy-rock band on Eddie’s Parade this Friday.

The Rock

The Rock

Our lonely, little, insignificant blue sphere is but a grain of sand in a haystack, a needle along the seashore of the universe. Yet it is ours. It is our rock! Worthy of love and life and defense, ’til death do us part. It is the very rock where our forefathers tilled the soil to make grain. And it is the rock unto which the rock made famous by the Pilgrims lay.

No matter the obstacle, we will prevail. Our way of life, blessed by the one, true, holy and apostolic creator, will be preserved. Might will make right and from the fiery depths of Hell to the stoniest heights of Brim no elemental force shall subject its will before answering to our every beck and call. Our planet shall not perish from this Earth!  We will not allow our livelihood to follow the path oft’ taken — that of the Dodo and Tyrannosaur that have gone before.

No.

Not long ago, and far more recent than the Four Score and Seven Years of lore, our very existence faced a threat that was so insurmountable not even the great and magnanimous Bono, clad in the clandestine canary-coloured spectacles of the scripture, and to whom we will prostrate ourselves on Friday, could stand in its path. The esteemed members of the Belmont community that run Howl at the Moon Bar & Grill will be having a drink up from 10AM to 3 PM after the U2 show. The drink up is $5, but if you wear a Howl at the Moon shirt to the show you get in free. Also, according to pure hearsay, all classes will be canceled on Friday. Holy God, please be responsible, y’all.

NO WAYYYYYY!

NO WAYYYYYY!

U2 will be playing a full set for Fordham Students after they play their three songs for Good Morning America!!!

So for anyone willing to brush this whole U2 thing off, just cause they haven’t been good for a decade and they’d only be playing three songs from their new (shitty) album: there’s a hunk a shit to put in your pipe and smoke!

Update on Bono-gate.

Discussing the super-secret Fordham show

Discussing the super-secret Fordham show

Fordham’s Lincoln Center newspaper of record, The Observor, reports:

“…U2 will indeed perform a concert at Fordham’s Rose Hill campus on March 6 at 8 a.m., according to a University source who commented on the condition of anonymity. An official announcement is expected to come sometime this Thursday…”

So 8AM kids, we’ll see you there.

They probably Still haven’t found what they’re looking for.

So our blog stats have been shooting through the roof with hundreds of people coming to the internet to see what the hell is up with this whole U2 playing Fordham thing. Conveniently, we have a tool that allows us to see what people google in order to come up with our blog. Someone out there decided to ask Jeeves just the right question….

Yeah, we’re talking about that last one. We don’t know either, guys. Also…we don’t know why we’re some kind of authority on Jeff Goldblum.

In other news, the punnery of The New York Post has finally shined its light on Fordham, “It might be a “Beautiful Day” Friday for Fordham University students and faculty…”

U2 coming to Fordham! (Charles eating his shoe forthcoming)

They said it couldn’t be done, but we showed them. With a few hushed words to the man upstairs via noted theologian Fr. Joseph McShane, our beloved Edward’s Parade will host the hottest Radiohead cover band from their side of the Prime Meridian. Verified by the paper’s “deep throat” at Interscope Records, the dad-rock troupe will take to whatever performance platform they will be taking to (read: probably Keating steps) succeeding their appearance on Good Morning, America. So get out your most obnoxious pair of sunglasses and dust off that old copy of Joshua Tree you have laying around Fordham, because next Friday we are all Bono.

Turns out that Bono and the Jesuits have been tight for ages. YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH
