The fourth in a series of very lazy year end posts that, like a good clip show, celebrate our best moments of the year with absolutely no creative effort of any kind. The following article first appeared in our October 8th issue.

Gotcha!

The Danger of Palin’s War on Journalism

By Bill Donahue
Co-Deaditor-In-Chief

It would be fairly foolish to expect politicians to willingly give straight-forward answers that fully satisfy the questions asked by journalists. They, in their attempt to court voters, are trying with all their might to answer in such a way that is beneficial to their image and does not expose weakness. It makes sense that they would try to change the subject, answer euphemistically, or do anything else to avoid tough questions. This is a sad reality, but a reality nonetheless. (more…)

When Academics Attack!

The website Politico.com held it’s daily online discussion board with various academic types, policy-makers, and political strategists, to discuss the importance of Palin’s whopping $150,000 wardrobe. Everyone took their shots and bickered and bantered about the totally bogus notion of a double standard. But only one member of the Educated East Coast Liberal Elite came out with two middle fingers raised proudly in the air, and that was William Easterly, professor of Economics at NYU. Check it out:

Sarah Palin, you just got pwnd, and Will Easterly, this Bud’s for you.

Powell Endorses Obama

Less Talk, More Barack

What happens on a Sunday morning when my bike is broken so I can’t to the Tour de Bronx and the library doesn’t open until noon? I watch a little Meet the Press. And on Meet the Press this morning former Secretary of State under George W. Bush and former McCain campaign contributer, Colin Powell, endorsed Barack Obama. And you know what? His explanation sounded incredibly thought out, rational, and informational.

Videogum put it well when they said, “You could probably go to any political rally, point your camera at the most obvious crystal-meth users, and get a similar result…” But these people have to be the ABSOLUTE dregs of political rally attendees, right?! (And by that I mean probably the norm for a Palin rally.) Ugh. Now I really want to go to one of these Palin rallies. I’d challenge the bitch at 1:17 to a duel.

A Case for Misanthropy

I honestly thought this was an “Onion” style news story when I fist came across this. But alas, it’s not.

This is the story of a severely confused Korean War Vet, and supposed life-long Democrat named Andy Lacasse, who found room in his heart to hate a little recently. Ole Ornery Andy managed to venture outside of his home (into a world filled with drug-crazed teens, pig-fucking hippies, and homosexual Islamist terrorists) to bravely put up this sign on his front lawn.

Setting the record straight!

While putting up the sign, neighbors claim the old man was reported to be saying to himself, “This’ll show them bastards!”

Andy later went on to tell reporters from Channel 13 News in Central Florida that he put the sign up to stop the sexist attacks against Sarah Palin and Hilary Clinton. Andy is still waiting to hear the tidal wave of praise from women’s groups lauding his valiant defense of the fairer sex in politics.

If you don’t believe me, read the whole story here.

Old Man Andy, you are bugging the fuck out right now.

The Internet Is the Most Asinine Series of Tubes in the World

If you’ve ever thought that the proliferation of media to the masses enabled by the Internet was a good thing, this video will single handedly prove you wrong.

The clip is called “Politically Retarded” and is hosted by a mildly incomprehensible Asian man who goes by the Internet moniker of “Retarded Mango.” The bit manages to rip off an old Conan O’Brien bit while at the same insulting everything and everyone it touches, including

Welcome to the Information Super-Highway to Hell.

Talkin’ Titties

I could not possibly be more sick of hearing “Are you a democrat first, or a woman?” being asked in regards to whether women are stupid enough to vote for anyone with a vagina. That’s why it was such a pleasant surprise to hear one conservative lady pundit who told it like it is. Hilary supporters (for the most part) weren’t just voting for Hilary because of her tits. Yes, this woman says tits on Fox News.

Now, I know everyone is this big ol’ blogosphere is sayin’ “If this were a liberal pundit, Fox News would castrate and bury her!” But come on, you’re ruining a beautiful moment here. Titties. Fox. And fuck the free world.

Not to make a Marxist out of a molehill, but as Sara Palin enjoyed some softballs from FOX News’ Sean Hannity tonight she gingerly swung low and sweet, and hit the financial crisis right on the head. She said that the problem on Wall Street is that CEOs are addicted to “O.P.M.” (that’s political homespun for “Other People’s Money”.) Sean Hannity, looking up from endorsing his NewsCorp paycheck, gave a stern nod in agreement.

Noted political pundit Friedrich Engels agreed whole heartedly. “Exactly! Holy shit! I said it in 1848, and I’ll say it again, the whole problem with a free market economic system is that the bourgeois are addicted to exploiting the worker in an economic system built to divide the people into the haves and the have nots… I always told Karl that the best way to solve the world societal, philosophical, economic and historiologial woes was through a folksy home-spun catch-phrase, not a Manifesto.” the co-author of the Communist Manifesto said from beyond the grave.
